Which Social Media Platforms Are Influencers On?

Social Media Influencers

You’ll find that most influencers are on every social media platform, especially with the cross-posting features of these sites and apps. What you post on Instagram can easily be shared on Facebook. These platforms are practically similar to each other with the main goal of connecting and engaging with the community. However, each channel has a unique content format, user base, and demand.

As a business person venturing into influencer marketing, it is essential that you know which social media platforms your prospect influencers are on. This is to ensure that your objectives and target audience are aligned. It is also important to know the type of content that sells on each site for you to properly plan a marketing strategy.

Facebook

Established in 2004, Facebook has grown into an immense platform with 2.8 billion users as of February 2021. It was one of the earliest social networking sites which still stands to this day. It’s become a community more than it is a platform to connect with friends.

Discussions happen across Facebook from politics and education to entertainment and health. This makes it the perfect channel to post news articles, create polls, and organise forums and events. Businesses are now aided with tools such as targeted ads, business suite, and marketplace.

So what kind of influencers are on Facebook? With the platform being around for nearly two decades, Facebook is regarded as a place for general content. Its largest audience segment is comprised of 25-34 year-olds which falls under the category of young adults but the next segment doesn’t fall far behind in percentage. Here, influencers are able to post various content: photos, videos, blog posts, and news articles. So, as a business owner still testing the waters for your marketing, Facebook is the best place to start with your campaigns.

Instagram

Instagram initially shared photos in a square format. Over the years, the platform has adapted to free-sized pictures and short videos. Recently, new features have been added such as Instagram stories which are 15-second videos/photos that are visible for 24 hours. It now allows longer videos on IGTV where users especially influencers are able to host live streams.

Because of updated formats on Instagram, businesses have found this to be the perfect place to showcase their products and brand ambassadors. The kind of influencers you find on Instagram are those who bank on visual content such as pictures and videos. Beauty tutorials, photography, lifestyle, and even short recipe videos are there.

YouTube

Video streaming became easy when the internet birthed YouTube. Various video content has been published on the platform. Among the many contents you see are home videos, funny bits, music videos, movie clips, product reviews, travel blogs, gaming hacks, and make-up tutorials. The influencers you find on YouTube are those who heavily produce videos that are longer than a minute.

TikTok

TikTok is the newest addition to the big players in social networking. The platform started out as an avenue for dubbing, sing-alongs, and dances. But it has now become a massive community that fosters information sharing and entertainment.

TikTok solely caters to short-form videos, which makes this a great channel for users to quickly breeze through trends and other topics they are inclined to. The videos on TikTok are what one might call short and sweet. You will see many video creators on the platform with different niches. Some of the popular subjects that trend on TikTok are comedy, video games, cooking, and sports. Influencers are focused on video content creation in this social media platform. See TikTok Trends in 2021 for a rundown of popular videos on the platform.

Chances are, your partner influencer or brand ambassador is on all social media platforms. This rundown is a mere quick guide to know which platforms to look into first. It is still important that you examine every one of these channels and also the following and content of your influencer.

Beauty Influencer Marketing

2021 is the year of the influencer! With influencer marketing rapidly becoming the most effective way to reach out to beauty consumers over recent years,  we explore why influencers are so good at doing just that – influencing!  And why it’s time you gave it a go.

Masters of make-up post to their hundreds of thousands of daily viewers. They not only demonstrate the use of products but also provide visual features and close-ups, verbal praise, and product information, presented to potential customers in a truly aesthetic setting. Enough value added yet?

Consider that all of your product information is being presented by an influencer that your targeted audience has already engaged into a social contract of trust and genuine interest when they clicked on that follow button maybe weeks, months, or years before. All while a trusted beauty guru gives tips and advice, she also presents your product and all the reasons why she trusts it, and your potential customers should, too. With in-video links to online sales, the conversion time from marketing to sale is realised almost instantaneously.

Consumers are trending away from traditional marketing in favour of influencers due to perceived trust. They no longer trust the smiling model on a billboard but are instead favouring lifestyle influencers whose journey they have been following, and are creating almost cult-like followings.

Not boring you with the analytics of it all, but accessibility to the success of your marketing data is clear and great to analyse. ATC specialises in influencer marketing and provides services to pair you with the best influencers, resulting in the best potential for your products to sell. For your next beauty marketing campaign, contact us and we’ll arrange your collaboration with a beauty influencer that shares the same objectives as your business.

4 Types of Influencers Based On Their Number of Followers

Types of Influencers

Influencer marketing is effective when done properly. But before hopping on this strategy, know the types of influencers based on their follower count and find out which suits your brand best.

1) Nano Influencer

These are influencers with a following of 10K or less. They have better engagement rates and more authentic recommendations and reviews. This is because they are followed by people they have a real-life relationship within their community. The nano influencer would be perfect if you are a small-medium enterprise or if you are only starting out. Collaborating with nano influencers is also budget-friendly.

2) Micro Influencer

A micro influencer has followers ranging from 10K to 100K. Although their audience is larger than nano influencers, they still appear relatable to their followers. Often regarded as key opinion leaders (KOLs), they talk about a specific topic and build their niche that appeals to a bigger focus group. Their followers are also more open to hearing more marketing plugs from them. Micro influencers typically give you your money’s worth as they are less expensive than macro influencers but still reach a wider audience.

3) Macro Influencer

These are internet-famous personalities. They’ve built their fame through vlogging or creating funny/informational/witty content. With 100K to 1M followers, a macro influencer appeals to a broader demographic, but still maintaining key opinion leader status. They are still able to focus on a particular subject. Because of the huge following, a macro influencer’s engagement rate usually is lower than that of a micro influencer’s. As for the fees, macro influencers charge more. If your marketing budget is able to accommodate their rates and if you’re looking at expanding your audience, then this type of influencer is what you’re looking for.

4) Mega Influencer

Mega influencers are what one might call superstars with typically a million or more followers. They are famous content creators or even celebrities like actors, singers, and models. They have a huge but rather diverse fan base. If your brand’s goal is to reach more market segments, then the mega influencer is the one for you. Because they have plenty of followers, their rates are also high. So if your brand aims to raise awareness among the mass and your pocket is deep, then best to team up with a mega influencer.

@bavaboiĐời là những cú lừa kakaka ##bavaboi ##tiktok @annhien_boiboi♬ nhạc nền – BavàBối

Now that you’ve read about the different types of influencers, you must have a clearer idea of whom to connect with on your next campaign. The most suitable influencer for your brand depends on the audience that they have. Often, the number of followers impacts your campaign’s reach. The more followers, the more diverse the audience is. More people are more aware of your brand. But that may not be the case always. If you want to drive sales, you have a better shot at collaborating with influencers with a more focused group of followers.

We can help connect you with the right one from our pool of all types of partner influencers. Contact us for your next marketing campaign!

Understanding Video Marketing and Its Common Forms

Video MarketingPhoto source: redsharknews.com

This is a crash course on video marketing and its common forms. You may not realise it, but, video marketing is making an even bigger impact in the business scene than you think. In our previously published article about social media marketing trends in 2021, you’ll learn that video content was all the rage last year and will continue to flood the web this year.

What Is Video Marketing?

Video marketing, from the term itself, is a type of marketing that promotes a product/service or conveys a message to your target audience using videos. The concept of video marketing has been around for a while. Who would have known about a decade ago that videos, which were solely for entertainment at the time, would grow to become a powerful selling tool? Think of video marketing as an advanced and digitalised form of television advertisement.

Common Video Content Forms

Here are some video marketing forms that you’ll find in various platforms that marketers are using for businesses and sample videos that you could check out.

Short-Form Videos

The social media age has given the elevator pitch a whole new meaning. With thousands of posts flooding our feed, content creators are given a 15-60 second window to get users hooked on their micro-video. These short-form videos as seen on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts are dominating the internet because they capture the attention of the users who are simply breezing through their feed and not looking for anything in particular.

Animation and Motion Graphics

Vibrant motion graphics leave a lasting impression and sometimes resonate better with the audience because of bright colors, unique animated characters, and simplified text. This is also a good alternative to videos involving real people if actors and crew are not available.

Live Stream

Huge platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, allow creators to broadcast videos in real time. Live streams may consist of huge events being documented, influencers unboxing and reviewing products, or even sellers showing and auctioning their merchandise. An experience like this gives the audience a sense of involvement when they participate. But this format is only effective if the content creator already has a solid following to earn a huge number of attendees.

Educational and Instructional Videos

We all looked for ways to stay productive during quarantine and attempted to learn new skills. We know you are equally guilty of looking up educational videos during lockdown. A ton of instructional videos for recipes, DIY projects, and even math lectures surfaced in the past year. Marketers have used this opportunity to introduce their products/services that followers could purchase for their own projects.

More video formats will likely emerge in 2021. Even the current ones will evolve after app development and updates. But one thing is for sure. Video marketing is here to stay. Business owners and influencers should grab this opportunity while it’s hot.

Asia Travel Club (ATC) offers services for businesses looking at creating video content. Watch some of the work we’ve done on our YouTube channel and be sure to subscribe for new video content. Contact us if you would like to get started on your next video campaign.

Influencer and Social Media Marketing: 7 Trends to Look Out For in 2021

Influencer marketing and social media marketing became huge over the past year as the world shifted to digitalisation to minimise human contact. With the pandemic far from being over, our daily lives will continue to revolve around our laptops, phones, and tablets. We have rounded up these 7 trends in 2021 that you should know about.

1) Rise of Micro-Influencers and Long-Term Partnerships

Micro-influencers are content creators with 1,000 to 100,000 followers. These influencers identify their niche and create posts surrounding it. Brands invest in a partnership with micro-influencers for their established target market. Rate-wise, tying up with micro-influencers would cost less than celebrity influencers. In 2020, more brands and influencers agreed on long-term contracts rather than one-time campaigns. This is a trend we will continue to see in 2021.

2) Performance-based Marketing

Aside from the number of followers, the engagement rate is the first thing marketers look into when looking for brand influencers or ambassadors. Campaigns and ads made through influencers account for at least a 5% increase in revenue. A high engagement rate means a wide audience reach and better returns.

3) More Authentic Content

Gone are the days of expensive professionally-shot ads. Users are now more interested in authentic and relatable content. Photos and videos that appear scripted and polished are less likely to win the hearts of the audience. This is why influencer and social media marketing is a hot strategy as influencers will often use their own personal experiences to tell a story about a product. This builds trust among their audience and eventually entices them to avail of the product or service.

4) A Boom in Video Sharing

Although photos still capture people’s attention, videos recently proved to be a better way to do it. Brands are able to compress their ads or messages into 15 to 60-second videos that viewers will not get easily bored of. Longer videos like vlogs show authentic storytelling that gets your viewers hooked. E-commerce now involves live streams where sellers can auction products or demonstrate how they are worn or used. A lot of influencers are now shifting their focus to more video content.

5) In-App Shopping

More and more platforms are introducing e-commerce features for users. In-app shopping has made it convenient for shoppers to view a certain product being advertised by influencers and to buy it without the need to navigate away from the app. Posts and videos that seamlessly direct users to brand-owned channels continue to be on the rise in 2021. Shoppable content is the future of e-commerce.

6) Branded AR (Augmented Reality) Effects

Brands have explored AR effects for marketing opportunities. A makeup line could introduce its products to social media by creating Instagram filters or effects that allow users to virtually try on many shades of lipstick. Brands use this format so shoppers could have fun with the effects and see how the products look on them.

7) Brands and Campaigns with a Cause

With the lockdown allowing us to slow down with our lives, we have found ourselves reading up more on current events and social issues. People trust brands that stand behind a cause like race and gender equality, veganism, environmentalism, and more. People are calling out influencers to be more socially responsible for they have the means to communicate to a larger audience. In the past, brands tried to stay away from sending political messages with their campaigns. Now, the audience requires more noise from brands about these social issues.

Explore influencer marketing opportunities with Asia Travel Club (ATC). We have a huge pool of influencers across various social media platforms. Contact us to find your match and build a partnership.

How Daebak Ghost Pepper “Spiciest Noodles” Became an Online Hit

ATC Influencer Marketing | Singapore Influencers Dee Kosh & Monabong collaborates with Daebak Ghost Pepper NoodlesHow Daebak Ghost Pepper “Spiciest Noodles” Became an Online Hit

The Spicy Noodle Challenge became popular a few years back. As the course of all things trending, it died down to its natural death.Or so we thought.

The Daebak Ghost Pepper Spicy Chicken Noodles was said to be the spiciest noodles there is. It burns above 1,000,000 Scoville heat units on the Scoville scale! This hellish heat prompted the start of the brand’s #CanorNotChallenge which made rounds on the internet, prompting not only the netizens but personalities as well.

This success in both engagement and drive of sales can be attributed to the brand’s successful social media marketing strategy of the, specifically, influencer marketing. Calling the brand the “spiciest noodles” and asking the wider audience to do the #CanorNotChallenge is daring itself. Adding a collaboration with influencers is an undeniable boost as well.

The use of influencer marketing not only connects the brand to a wider audience through these influencers. It also appeals to the niche market. The creation of a tight influencer marketing strategy meets and even goes beyond expectation.

Let’s see if influencers Dee Kosh (@deekosh) and Mongchin (@mongabong) survived the #CanorNotChallenge with the “Spiciest Noodles” in town!
